I am proud to call myself an American electric guitarist. Every time I plug in, I have the same goal: find that place where the guitar starts to play itself, notes jump effortlessly off the string, music flows, and everything is in synchrony. The amp does what I want it to, when I want it to. The system of my hands, strings, pickups, knobs, circuits - all of it melts away, and out of the speaker comes a voice. My voice. 

 

I chase "good tone" every morning when I wake up, and I will not stop that pursuit for the rest of my life. That pursuit is what I think it means to be an American electric guitarist and amp builder. This goal is an obsession of mine, which is why I got a doctorate in acoustics and started building tube guitar amplifiers in the first place. I need to study, measure, refine, and perfect every circuit I come across. I must polish every amp I build to excel at its tonal vision, construction, and voicing. I do it becuase every time you play a Moontower Amp, I get a chance to enable your voice.
